We established NES Olive Farm in 2008, after the 2007 Witch Creek Fire burned the chaparral around our home and devastated our region. NES means miracle in Hebrew and is a testament to how lucky we were. We planted a Spanish varietal, Piqual, with the intent of producing a superior Extra Virgin Olive Oil on our small family farm, located in northwest of Ramona off Rangeland Road, near Mount Woodson. Yigal Ben-Aderet, grower and owner, grew up surrounded by olive oil. His Greek grandmother used to drink a thimble of oil every morning throughout her life. She passed away in 2008 at 99 years old and now we use her thimble, hoping for long life too. NES Olive Farm's Piqual Olive Oil won a silver medal for best small grower single variety in the 2018 Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition. As a small boutique producer, we are proud to receive such a prestigious award. We encourage you to enjoy our oil any way you'd like, from drinking a thimble-full every morning to simply drizzling on salad or fresh bread.
