Spanish Olive Oil Market Situation (May 2025)
The Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Food Information and Control Agency (AICA), has released data concerning the performance of the olive oil sector in Spain for the month of May. The figures point to a positive outcome, driven by an increase in domestic demand and foreign sales.
Data:
Exports: 120,095 Tons
May Production: 0.971 Tons
Cumulative Production: 1,414,124 Tons
Stocks in Production: 555,574 Tons
Stocks at Bottlers: 200,609 Tons
Stocks at the Olive Grove Community Heritage (PCO): 7,128 Tons
Total Stocks: 763,311 Tons
An adjustment in the prices of olive oil at its origin has resulted in sales of 120,095 tons for the month of May, not including imports. This figure underscores the positive momentum of market operators.
If sales continue at their current pace over the next four months, we can expect to approach October with estimated reserves of around 300,000 tons.
During the four months remaining until the start of the olive harvesting season, it will be important to maintain price stability and for the olive oil industry to plan its strategies for the upcoming harvest.
