Status of the Spanish Olive Oil Market (June 2025)

The preliminary data gathered by the Department of Agriculture, together with the Food Information and Control Agency (AICA), shows that the olive oil market remained strong in June, with an output of 117,446 metric tons. This figure is bolstered by an additional 15,000 metric tons from imports.

This indicates that, as we approach the end of the 2024/2025 season with three months left before the new harvest season, producers have about 444,000 metric tons in reserve, while storage facilities hold roughly 196,000 metric tons. With these stockpiles, it's expected that there will be a smooth transition into the new season with an olive oil inventory of between 270,000 and 300,000 metric tons.

Although it's well known that exports tend to slow down in July and August during the summer season, a somewhat tight transition is anticipated until the mass production of new oil begins.
